How to claim free games on the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store gives away at least one game every week. The swap happens every Thursday evening in India: 8:30 pm IST (9:30 pm IST from early November to mid-March, when US clocks go back). Claim it before the deadline and the game is yours to keep.

On PC

1. Open the free game’s page. You can use the Claim on store button here or go to the free games section of the store.
2. Sign in to your Epic Games account. No account? Create one, it’s free.
3. On the game page, click Get.
4. In the checkout window, check that the total is ₹0 and click Place Order. No card or UPI is needed.
5. Done. The game is now in your Library in the Epic Games Launcher, ready to install whenever you like.

On Android

The Epic Games Store also has a weekly free mobile game. In India you claim it in the Epic Games Store app for Android, with the same account: open the game, tap Get and confirm the ₹0 order. On iPhone, Epic’s mobile store is only offered in some regions (such as the EU), so in India these games are an Android thing.

If something goes wrong

• The store asks for two-factor authentication. Turn on 2FA in your Epic account settings and try again.
• The button says “In Library”. You’ve already claimed this game before. It’s still yours.
• The game doesn’t show up for you. Some giveaways aren’t available in every country or on every platform.
• You missed the deadline. After Thursday’s swap, the game goes back to its regular price. Some games come back for free later: check the history on the game’s page.

Do I need a credit card or UPI? No. The order total is ₹0.

Does the game disappear after the giveaway? No. Once claimed, it stays in your account.

Do I have to install it now? No. Claim it today and install whenever you have the space and data.
